Banana, Beet, Spinach Goodness

I realise I’ve been a little hesitant in uploading content to my blog these past few months, I have however, tried numerous times to come up with some magnificent post- but I have to admit defeat on this one occasion. It seems every time an idea flickers before my eyes it escapes before I have chance to act upon it, the only time when I have been overwhelmed with ideas is 11PM… Just as my brain is trying to hibernate and catch some snooze. Many of these spontaneous ideas I scribbled down on a notebook, my handwriting messy and unreadable as I prized my half-asleep eyes open, but the others evaporated into thin air. Gone. Moved onto someone else. But as we are now two days into the New Year, I have set myself the goal of devoting more of myself to this platform and expanding my website with more magical ideas, creations, words and messages to offer to you lovely people.

So here’s to my first post of 2016, of course it just had to be an obligatory smoothie bowl creation; in particular one of the most tastiest bowls I have ever reminisced. Of course, it’s the Banana, Beet and Spinach. When you mix these whole, organic ingredients you undoubtedly get something that looks a little like the above creation. Deliciousness.

For the ‘majestic green goodness’:

  • 1 banana
  • 1/4 chopped pineapple (adjust to suit your tastebuds)
  • Generous handful spinach
  • A squeeze of fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup almond milk

For the ‘divinely beety’ half:

  • 1/2 a beetroot
  • 1 banana
  • Palmful of shredded coconut
  • Squeeze of fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup almond milk

Whack each half of the smoothie into a blender and blend until you reach a smooth consistency, pour into a bowl and add the second half of the ingredients. Blend again until smooth and then add to your bowl. I topped this with dried banana coins and shredded coconut!

I hope you enjoy indulging in this bowl of organic goodness, may your 2016 be pouring with health, peace, vitality and happiness.

Much love, G x
