I’m going to try and keep this super short and sweet so here goes!
As a few of you know outside of my insane health and fitness enthusiast life (I do have a social life I promise!) in July this year I hurdled myself out of the open door of an aircraft 14,000 feet above Earth in order to raise money and awareness for a charity that is very close to my heart.
So you’re probably asking what my charity is? Well my charity is called Beat. Beat is the UK’s leading charity supporting anyone affected by eating disorders such as anorexia nervosa, bulimia and orthorexia or those who have difficulties with food, weight and shape. From helping someone believe that they CAN beat their eating disorder as well as providing support and encouragement they need to seek treatment and recovery are just a couple of extraordinary things this charity does.
Eating disorders affect more than 725,000 people in the UK, of which 20% of people die from suffering from their illness. This devastating illness needs to be spoken about more, people need to understand more about the causes and those suffering need to know they can speak and reach out to get help for their eating disorder. I’m hoping that the charity work I do will help spread the message and change the way people think and talk about eating disorders by challenging the stereotypes and stigma those with eating disorders face. Maybe then more people suffering will catch a glimmer of hope amid their darkest days and find the courage they need to keep on fighting this mental battle day in day out until the day they win. In working together and helping to raise money for this amazing charity, eating disorders WILL be beaten- and it is this vision we must hold on to.
I would be incredibly grateful for your moral and financial support in helping me to reach my goal and any sponsors/donations would be much greatly received.
